Chemical Protective Coverall
A chemical protective coverall is a full-body protective garment used to protect the body in work involving hazardous liquids, sprays or particles. The protection class is selected according to the form of the hazard: Type 3 protects against liquid jets, Type 4 against liquid sprays, Type 5 against dry particles, and Type 6 only against limited liquid splashes. Depending on the model, it may feature laminated or microporous film-coated fabric, taped seams, a hood, an elasticated face opening, waist and wrists, and a zip with storm flap. It is used in chemical plants, spraying, industrial cleaning, wastewater treatment and decontamination work. No coverall provides the same protection against every chemical; selection should be based on the type of chemical, contact time and certification.
